Daniel Platz leads player personnel at Washington State. His career in college football personnel began as a student assistant at Missouri before he became a graduate assistant within the department. A 2023 Missouri graduate in statistics with a certificate in sports analytics, Daniel began using Google Apps Script to organize the recurring work inside the office. Those practical tools became the foundation for UCruit. He and Jake shaped the platform around the work their staff handled every day, then brought it into Washington State’s recruiting operation. He still builds with the same question in mind: how can a staff spend less time managing information and more time making decisions?

Jake Morgan

Co-Founder & Co-Developer

Director of Scouting, Washington State

Jake Morgan’s work has always centered on scouting. Before becoming Washington State’s Director of Scouting, he spent five years as a student assistant in Missouri’s scouting and personnel department evaluating prospects, breaking down film for running backs and tight ends coaches, and helping coordinate on-campus visits. Jake graduated from Missouri in 2025 with a degree in sport management and a minor in business administration. While pursuing a graduate certificate in sports analytics, he started learning to code and turning the office’s everyday frustrations into working software. Late nights building alongside Daniel eventually became a system their staff trusted throughout spring and summer recruiting at Washington State.
